new release: Broke Beads "Wave High" 12"

BMBC 25--Broke Beads "Wave High" LP (will include mp3) - Broke Beads are brand new in 2010! Playing instrumental indie pop tunes, or “when skaters get closer to 30 than 25." Guitars, keyboards, and drums carve a sound that’s both melodic and beautiful and even blazing at times. Members are split between New Orleans and Austin. Bombay Cove Records plucked ‘em for some South By Southwest shows, and then immediately went to work to release “Wave High” on siiiiiick green vinyl in early summer.

The members have put in serious time in other bands, but the Broke Beads project got together and began recording in late 2009 at Soul Korea Studio in Austin, debuted it’s new sound in January and recorded their 2nd show (some of the tracks appear on side B of this wax platter!). They followed up SXSW by embarking on a mini-tour of the southeast playing skate shops and clubs.

Comparisons at this point have ranged from Broken Social Scene and Tristeza, to “a more up-tempo Explosions in the Sky” or “early Thrill Jockey.” I’m not kidding you sister, these guys are blowing shit up... so jump on.
